Black and White Film

I love taking photos. My poor friends are constantly faced with me swinging my DSLR about at social gatherings. They have an excellent selection of candid portraits now (somewhere that I think my strengths lie) and they've learnt that it's just a part of me. I do, of course, put the camera down to take part as well but in the last few months I've also been experimenting a bit with film.

I think it's so funny to think that when I first started taking photographs as a child, film was the only option. You just pointed, shot and hoped it worked! Now I've become so used to using a digital camera and checking the photograph I've just taken and then snapping a few more until I like it. So I wanted to challenge myself to just get on with it and play around with film.

Looking back at these is funny. I was a bit careful with my shots, often only whipping my camera out to take one photo and then putting it away, so these are from London, Bournemouth, Cornwall and I think maybe even Norfolk! I certainly want to continue playing with film- and maybe this time I'll be a bit less precious!

p.s. Want to see some film colour photographs I've already shared?

These are beautiful, I love all the interesting angles you're using!

Cheers,

P.S. My friends are also so sick of my constant photographing

Thank you so much! I have a few more film shots to share plus some snow day pics coming up shortly! I think my friends (deep down) appreciate all the portraits I am providing them with, but I'm making a real effort to not always hide behind my lense!

Love the grass - beautiful texture. I went to a blogger networking group a couple of weeks ago, and remarked how nice it was to happily take pics & no-one was worried.
There is a balance though, I'm now finding times where I can't face bringing it out as we're having such a nice time - but then most of my mates are used to me now!
